Nominal charge ($5.00) to enter the Chattahoochee National Forest park. Anna Ruby Falls is open daily (weather permitting) from 9am to 5pm. No one will be admitted onto the trail after 4pm.

Overview

This paved path is family-friendly and great for beginners. The reward at the end is equally as impressive as any of the more remote or challenging trails in the area.

Description

These beautiful falls are located in the Chattahoochee National Forest and are readily accessible for the price a few dollars and a little bit of running. The water cascading over the drop offs is created by two creeks.

The Curtis Creek falls drop 153 feet and the York Creek falls are a much shorter but still spectacular 50 feet. The water at the bottom of the falls is then considered to be part of Smith Creek which flows into and forms Smith Lake - the centerpiece of Unicoi State Park.

The path is paved, and there are benches along the way to stop and soak in the scenery. Stop by the visitor center after your run.

History & Background

The falls are named after Anna Ruby Nichols, the daughter of an early settler. The Anna Ruby Falls Trail is designated a National Recreation Trail in Georgia.
