Features River/Creek · Views · Wildlife

You must have completed any 100 mile trail race, the Cruel Jewel 50, H9 50, or the Georgia Death Race to be eligible to register for the CJ100.

This race consists of 94 miles of trails, 12 miles of mountain roads, and 20 aid stations. Along your journey from Vogel State Park to Blue Ridge, GA and back, you'll experience tough, and sometimes technical, singletrack trails, ferns and old growth poplar trees, steep ascents and even steeper descents, a historic steel bridge spanning the Toccoa River, the Dragon's Spine, lush green hardwood forests, rocks, roots and ridge lines ... all of which will be passed before you reach your final destination. And as a bonus we have thrown in 33,000 feet of gain and 33,000 feet of loss just to keep it interesting!!

Need to Know

The Cruel Jewel 100 is laid out for tough and experienced trail runners, therefore there will be qualifications and requirements to be eligible for entry and strict cut off times at all aid stations put in place for your safety.

Cruel Jewel 100 is a HARDROCK Qualifier!!

Runner Notes

A few stream crossings must be navigated along the way, but nothing to get your feet wet unless it's raining.

The 100 (106) mile race starts at Vogel State Park. The route goes over Coosa Mountain connecting to the Duncan Ridge Trail and the BMT. You do a 6-mile loop at Deep Gap before heading for Camp Morganton, where you'll turn around back to the 6 mile loop, plus a very cruel out and back before heading east to Vogel State park.
