You'll need $5 (2018) or a state parks pass for parking.

This is the more difficult of two routes from the very touristy, German-themed village of Helen into the center of Smithgall Woods State Park. The main feature of this forest road is the 500 foot climb to the radio tower at the top of the mountain, from which you have no view, and then the ensuing descent down to Tsalaki Road. The steepest parts of the climb between Helen and the summit are actually paved.
