The Georgia Death Race is a point-to-point ultramarathon trail race. Start time is 8 am which gives runners of all levels the opportunity to witness the sunrise from the Duncan Ridge.

The first 8 miles has close to 3,500 feet of elevation change, including the 2,300 ft climb over 3.8 miles up to the summit of Coosa Bald, as well aa other long distance viewpoints from random points along the ridge trails.

Other course highlights include the Toccoa Swinging Bridge, the remote Benton Mackaye and Duncan Ridge Trail, and finally climbing the 425 steps to the top of the 729 foot Amicalola waterfall.

Flora & Fauna

Leaves are off the trees at this time of year. There are some rhododendrons and mountain laurels along various points along the course.
