Nice combination of woods, water, and solitude with easy access to parking.

The trail begins near the hoofed animal enclosure and meanders through the woods before approaching the lake. The trail goes up and down through many gulleys and then follows the edge of the lake. Many great views across the water as you run along some bluffs and through the woods.

The long run of the route is out and back, but the routes uses many of the small inter-connected ways in the woods to minimized the double-tracking.
