Overview
This route is the outer loop of trails through Cave Springs Park. The trail is mostly through a forested area with views of a few chimney remnants from an early settlement.
Description
The trail is clearly defined, but does intersect with other small trails within the park, but even if you get side-tracked, the park is small enough that you'll end up near the interpretive center soon enough. The terrain is mostly flat with some gentle hills though the woods. Just off the trail are some old chimney structures.
Flora & Fauna
Given the small size of the park, one isn't likely to encounter larger wildlife, but squirrels and other typical Missouri woodland creature abound.
History & Background
There is a trail marker for the Santa Fe
Trail in the park
