As always in Bulgaria bring some cash as you can buy food and refreshments at Yastrebets and also further along the trails as well.

This is a section on the annual "Rila Run" race, and it is very steep. From the bottom of the Yastrebets 3 ski run it's simple: go up, straight up. From time to time, make sure to turn around and enjoy the view of the villages below you. Continue going up until you reach the top of Yastrebets Express Chair and head left where you pass the station on a brief gravel road. The trail continues up along the ridge passing near the gondola route. It eases up for a few hundred meters before the final push up to the slope.
