Crossing Siouxon Creek can be challenging, especially when waters are high. Be careful of shallow but fast-moving water and slippery rocks. Trail may be blocked by snow between November and June.

Description

The Huffman Peak Trail #129 leaves the Siouxon Trail #130 about 0.75 mile east of the first access point along Forest Road 5701. It drops down steeply for about 0.5 mile to a ford of Siouxon Creek, which can be impassable at high water. It then climbs northeastward for 4 miles, past junction with the North Fork Siouxon Trail #126, traverses the side of Huffman Peak, then follows the saddle for about 1.5 miles toward Siouxon Peak. It passes immediately below Siouxon's low summit and continues for about 1.5 miles to end at a junction with Chinook Creek Trail #130A and Forest Roads 230 and 6403. A long, challenging loop can be fashioned out of the Siouxon Creek Trail, the Huffman Peak Trail #129, and the Chinook Creek Trail.
