Runner Notes

It's important to bring water as this is a strenuous trail with no water whatsoever.

Description

The Whitewash Trail is a very steep climb all the way from the Southern Foothills near the Indian School parking lot to the intersection of Embudito Trail (#192) and Embudo Trail at Oso Pass. Once you start heading northeast there are a few user trails that branch off so it may take a few outings to maintain the correct trail, but it gets easier the more you run here. The user trails either dead end in a wash or on a high point. The right trail does dip through a wash but it continues to climb in a northeasterly direction up to the crest and after about the first mile the user trails disappear so there is no more confusion. The trail is a tough climb, but well worth the effort.
