Description

This trail follows the ridgeline between Yosemite National Park and the Ansel Adams Wilderness in the Sierra National Forest. The Yosemite NP section begins in a large glacial basin before ascending a series of switchbacks through granite boulder fields and scree. Minor scrambling and trail finding is to be expected in this rocky alpine environment.

Once up on the ridge, the views are expansive. Visitors can survey much of the High Sierra of Yosemite National Park, as well as the Sierra and Inyo National Forests. The trail is much easier to follow on the ridge before entering scree fields at Post Peak Pass. The trail continues south beyond the pass as the Post Peak Trail.
