You'll need $5 (2018) or a state parks pass for parking.

This is the easier of two routes from the very touristy, German-themed village of Helen into the center of Smithgall Woods State Park. There are a couple of wildlife openings - I saw some turkeys. There is a ford through Duke's Creek just before you reach Tsalaki Road. Other than that this is an unremarkable forest road.

There is no vehicular traffic allowed on any of the roads in the park.
