This trail is perfect for half mile repeats. You can run fast along the creek to open it up and then rest along the technical section or do it the other way to work on your speed through technical trails. Also note that the stretch along the creek can be muddy in the spring.
Starting at the visitor center, head north following the Green Trail
markers. You can run this loop in either direction. If you run it counterclockwise, you'll quickly drop to the river on some rooted doubletrack and be greeted with a smooth flat stretch along the creek for the first half of the loop. The second half of the loop is undulating back up to the visitor center along shaded trails with rocks and roots.
