West Cardiac Hill splits from its namesake after the latter crosses a dry creek bed. The initial path is semi-rocky, winding and making an up-and-down path to the southwest. Like Castner Range Fence Line
, many sections of the trail are bordered by tall grasses, an unusual feature in the desert.
After a quarter mile, the trail doubles back and descends towards a dry creek bed. It then turns back west towards its end at Blue Moon
. If beginning West Cardiac from this side, the GPS track can help in locating it, as the entry is unmarked and easy to miss.
