Runner Notes

Running this course may not be recommended due to the steep and difficult nature of the trail. This trail may be a hike only.

Description

This trail can begin at the end of the Acadia Mountain Trail where it intersects with the Man O' War Brook Fire Road, or from the parking area off of Fernald Point Rd. This route will lead to the top of St. Sauveur Mountain and connects to the Saint Sauveur Mountain Trail in two separate points.

From the Acadia Mountain Trail, the peak of St. Sauveur Mountain is located 0.8 miles along the trail. The trail connects again on the second connecting point 0.4 miles later. This trail is a difficult and steep climb. There are many sections of open granite and heavily wooded climbing sections. It is not recommended to do this trail in the rain. It leads to spectacular views of the Somes Sound. This trail will also lead to Valley Peak.
