Description

This trail is popular at all times of the day, but is wide and flat enough to accommodate all users. Dog walkers and joggers looking for a mellow outing are especially fond of this trail. Starting from the Bobolink trailhead off Baseline Road, take the dirt trail to run the Bobolink Trail (the paved trail is the South Boulder Creek Trail).

Head south on the Bobolink Trail. Follow along a wood fence line that prevents access to the creek except at a couple of designated spots. You can still see the water and hear its burbling progress as you run upstream. The terrain is flat and wooded with cottonwood trees and other flowering shrubs. In spring, a boggy area to the east provides interest and frog habitat. Across the creek you get glimpses of the Flatirons and foothills through the trees. Wind along, staying on the packed dirt trail when junctions with the South Boulder Creek Trail appear. All too soon, the Bobolink Trail ends and becomes the also lovely South Boulder Creek Trail.

The trail is named after the bobolink (a migrating songbird) that can theoretically be spotted here.
