Description

This is a newer singletrack trail that largely runs on the side of mountain's through pine forest with views into the valley. Green and lush, in a really beautiful setting with a couple very scenic views. During wildflower season this trail is gorgeous. Overall a smooth trail.

North Fork Trail is generally done as an out/back using the Hummingbird Trail from Reynolds Park to connect. The trail goes down generally, but if you access it via Hummingbird Trail, the start is a steep uphill.

If doing as an out-and-back, it's a steady climb back, but not too bad. There is one river/creek crossing which can be crossed without getting wet. There is potential to link to the Colorado Trail (CT) on the southern end, or to do other trails in Reynolds Park. There is a parking lot and restroom in Reynolds Park.

Taken looking south / downstream from mile 4.25 as described by the TRP description. The trail on the left heads downstream towards the southern trailhead / old South Platte Hotel. The trail on the right continues to gain elevation as it heads northbound.

Most of the trail is singletrack, sometimes passing through burn areas that are re-growing with greenery and wildflowers if you time it right (taken in June 2019).
