Need to Know

Access is via the Cape Breton Park Visitor Center, so there is a fee if you stay longer than they expect. There are two trailheads, one near the camping area, and the other is almost out of the park, along the road. Head out of the park and find the signs on the right side along the road.

Description

Starts in the Visitor Center parking lot, or along the road (quicker access). We did the counterclockwise loop, climbing along with the stream in the shade. After most of the climb, you come back around and start getting views. There is a large red chair to sit and admire the view at one spot. Moderate climb back down through the forest. Very pleasant way to run 5 or 6 miles with a 1,000-foot climb.
