Runner Notes

It's an excellent trail for running, with only a few hills and rocks.

Description

This is an unmarked trail used commonly by runners. The start of this trail is difficult to see in the spring and summer when there is abundant plant life; however, there is a cairn on the side of the path (about 50 feet off the path) indicating where it is.

The trail follows a woods road, passing the Lewis Mine entrance just 0.2 miles from the start of the trail. It continues to climb a very nominal grade to 0.8 miles then descends slightly to the junction with Long Path: Section 6.

Flora & Fauna

Rabbits, deer, and a very rare bear can be found here. You'll go past some wetlands, so make sure to bring some insect repellent during the warmer months!

Video from the Stockbridge Mountain Hike 2/18/18. Can be a little slippery at times, microspikes suggested for the steeper hills.;)
