Description

The trail begins at the Willie Lee Trailhead and is part of the US Forest Service Bateman Trails. There is ample parking here with a picnic table and a grill. You'll also find the remains of an old root cellar in the area of the former homestead.

The path leads down a former county road that is made of gravel and loose rock. You'll steeply descend into the hollow and encounter a runoff creek, which will require a water crossing. Continue to follow the creek bottom and make your way around the loop for panoramic scenery of the glades area. The best viewing likely occurs when the foliage is minimal in the fall/winter.

The trail is marked with a mix of official white diamonds and amateur plastic ties. Many of the surfaces are rocky, washed out, and uneven. Consider bringing your trekking pole(s).
