Features River/Creek

The usual wilderness area regulations and restrictions apply in the Mount Thielsen Wilderness. No permits are required, but please register at the trailhead. The Thielsen Creek Trail is usually closed—unless you ski or snowshoe—by snow from December to May.

Description

This trail connects the Howlock Mountain Trail #1448 to Pacific Crest Trail (USFS #2000) within the Mt. Thielsen Wilderness. It parallels Thielsen Creek most of the way, but not always that closely. Thielsen Creek Camp is located just south of the trail 0.2 miles from its junction with the PCT. This is a popular camping spot with water and a magnificent view of the east of Mt. Thielsen. This trail is also popular with Nordic skiers in the winter.
