Description
Alice in Wonderland is a main mountain bike artery and that somewhat detracts from its appeal as a running trail. However, with recent additions to the mountain bike trail system (notably the new Jabberwocky), Alice seems to have less bike traffic than before. The pedestrian portion of this trail starts at the upper White Rabbit trailhead on 2060 and descends to the intersection with
Bandersnatch. Below
Bandersnatch, the trail becomes mountain bike only, so you'll either need to plan a loop or return the way that you came.
Alice traverses and descends a ridge from which good to excellent views are afforded. The trail is sandy and rutted in areas from the cyclist traffic, but generally the footing is good.
Various pedestrian loops are possible in conjunction with
Red Queen,
Jubjub,
Bandersnatch,
Gryphon Trail,
Caterpillar Trail and others.
Parts of this trail are on Ashland city lands and US Forest Service lands. Additionally, this trail currently passes through some private property. Easements may allow a re-route in the future.
