“Caterpillar is a multi-use trail connecting White Rabbit to Lewis Loops Trail and Toothpick ending at Lamb Saddle.”— Torsten Heycke
The adjacent bike trail, Lizard, constructed in 2016, removed most of the downhill cyclist traffic on the part of Caterpillar between Caterpillar Crossing and Lewis Loops: Gyre and Lewis Loops: Gimble. However, the rest of Caterpillar may have bikes traveling in the up or downhill direction.
The trail is wide and features some large ponderosas. Caterpillar is part of the Creek to Crest trail. Caterpillar can be part of loops including Lewis Loops, FS Road 2060, Toothpick and other trails.
