Runner Notes
We have seen one rattlesnake on the trail around mile 1.5 (from trailhead).
Description
This is a moderately steep singletrack beginning at the Embudito Trailhead east of Glenwood Hills Road in Albuquerque. The trail is very well maintained for the first couple of miles, but then gets a little rougher and requires some very minor scrambling over rocks and trees. At the top, there are amazing views of the city. Be aware that it can get hot in the summer, but the temperature tends to cool down as you get further up the trail. At the summit there are loop options, but heading back the way that you came is also pleasant.
Flora & Fauna
Trail begins in high desert scrubs and cacti and climbs to ponderosa and pinon pines. Plenty of lizards and squirrels throughout the trail, and have seen a rattlesnake down lower on one occasion.
