Features River/Creek

Kauri trees grow along these trails. Please use the gear cleaning stations at the start and end of your run to prevent the spread of Kauri dieback.

Description

From the Upper Kauri Track, the Cascade Track descends north through a forest mixed with large kauri to a crossing of Cascade Stream. From there, the track climbs and winds around a small valley before connecting back with the Fence Line Track. Some of the steeper sections can be slippery if there has been a recent rain.

Flora & Fauna

Lowland podocarp and broadleaf forest interspersed with the magnificent kauri.
