This white-blazed trail starts from the parking Schunnemonk Trailhead Parking area. The first part of the trail passes through a lovely meadow that was completely packed with wildflowers when we went. After the meadow, the trail enters the forest and crosses the active rail road. After the rail road, the trail quickly ascends Schunnemunk Mountain. It then drops into the ravine on the west side of the mountain before terminating at the Western Ridge Trail.
