Runner Notes
You'll need to get to this park pretty early to avoid the crowds. Free day-use and close proximity to Denver make this route especially popular especially on summer holidays and on weekends.
Description
This shorter trail is perfect for those who might be on the hunt for the perfect picnic spot, or who want to explore all that the creekside has to offer. This path is fairly wide, offering families or larger groups the ability to run side by side. If you are traveling in a larger group, please be aware that this park is very popular, especially on the weekend, and you'll need to be courteous to fellow trail users.
As you continue on this path, enjoy the flat terrain and the sounds of Bear Creek. Especially in the Spring, the water will noisily bubble past, making this trail one of the most relaxing in the park. Ample shade makes this route pleasant even in the summer months. Once you've completed this route, you can turn back, or explore other trails further.
Flora & Fauna
You'll enjoy the various pine species, as well as some less usual Colorado fare, such as Cottonwoods.
