Runner Notes

There are rocks on the trail. You might be picking yourself up off the ground if you're not attentive enough on this section, both uphill and downhill. This is a popular trail for hikers and cyclists, whom oftentimes do not use bells or any noise indicators.

Description

Start from the Dry Creek Trail and climb the short hill, then follow the road to the horseshoe and continue straight. There is a trail marker at the start of the trail. The first two miles is a bit of a climb with some rocks thrown in for good measure. About a mile up, you'll come to another horseshoe - follow this one around. The trail is steep again and a little rocky.

After a half mile, it starts to level out, and then becomes more rolling and follows the lay of the land into small canyons. Around mile 2.5, you'll get a bit of an uphill climb for about a half of a mile. Take a drink if you have water. This is the last serious climb and continues for another mile with more rolling terrain before heading downhill for another mile.

At approximately mile 5, it turns to the right and goes into more rollers for another half mile. It then heads downhill for the rest of the run and you can do some controlled falling - just be wary of the rocks that will litter the trail until you get to City Creek!

Flora & Fauna

The trail has some shade in the first mile with shrubs and small trees.
