A short but scenic shaded forest loop in the Saratoga Montalvo hills, combining redwood and oak woodland trails with a steady climb to Lookout Point. The run is short but offers a good workout, with peaceful woodland scenery and partial valley views near the top.

Starting from Villa Montalvo, the trail quickly enters shaded woodland and follows rolling singletrack through redwood and oak forest. Early sections are relatively gentle, with occasional creek crossings and quiet canyon scenery along Orchard Creek.

The route then climbs steadily uphill toward Lookout Point, with several switchbacks and sustained elevation gain through dense tree cover. While the ascent can feel moderately strenuous for the distance, the shade keeps the run comfortable.

At Lookout Point, the trees open slightly to reveal partial views of the surrounding Saratoga hills and South Bay. From there, the loop descends along South Orchard Creek Trail through quieter forest terrain before reconnecting near the Montalvo grounds for an easy finish.
