Description

This small network of trails, just north of Lake Wintergreen in West Rock Ridge State Park, is a disparate collection. The southern segment (from the parking area to the Purple Trail) is quite unpleasant, at least in summer, as it is very overgrown and hard to navigate without long pants and ideally a machete. However, the winding segment just north of the Purple Trail is lovely and peaceful, would be perfect for a meditative stroll or a gentle run with young children not yet ready for real running. The northernmost segment (parallel to the Red Trail) was difficult to follow in parts.

In summary - use the Red Trail or Purple Trail to access the good part, which is middle (twisty) section, and skip the rest.
