This trail begins at Cini Park at the far end of Niantic Bay. From the parking lot, it passes under the train tracks next to the train bridge. It then continues between the tracks and the water. Here, there are many access points to the beach below. About halfway through the trail, the shore goes from sand to rocks. The trail ends at a hole in the seawall at Hole-in-the-Wall Beach.

There are plenty of seabirds and shorebirds to be seen along this trail.
