Need to Know

A California Campfire Permit is required if wanting to have a campfire or use a stove. Campfires are generally banned in the summer months and into the fall due to fire danger. No permit is required to enter or camp in the wilderness, so it is a good idea to sign the register.

Description

The junction with Manzana Creek Trail can be found just across the creek from Potrero Camp. It starts climbing immediately with a few wiggles to reach the ridge. It stays high, giving views, for a while before swinging east into a valley of oaks.

They look dead in the winter, but they are simply deciduous valley oaks. Near the likely dry creek bed, it takes a sharp left to start climbing again. Once more, it gets up onto a ridge before ending at the top of Hurricane Deck and Hurricane Deck Trail.
