Description
Middle Falls Trail #64A is an alternate to
Snowbird Creek Trail #64 - Middle Section and provides a means to reach Middle Falls without having to ford Snowbird Creek 11 times. The trail ascends very steeply at first, before leveling out and gradually descending to a signed trail junction that provides two routes to Snowbird Creek Trail. A right turn here bypasses Middle Falls, with a descent leading 500 feet to
Snowbird Creek Trail #64 - Upper Section.
This provides the shortest route upstream along Upper Snowbird Creek Trail #64. Otherwise, continue straight on Middle Falls Trail #64A another tenth of a mile to its end at signed junction with
Snowbird Creek Trail #64 - Middle Section. Turn left on
Snowbird Creek Trail #64 - Middle Section (downstream direction) and proceed about 100 yards until you hear Middle Falls to your right. Find a worn path that descends to the pool below the falls.
A right turn where Middle Falls Trail #64A dead ends at Snowbird Trail #64 - Middle Section leads in the upstream direction.
Snowbird Creek Trail #64 - Middle Section trail crosses Big Snowbird Creek in about 50 yards. Just beyond this crossing is another trail sign for the junction with Burntrock Ridge Trail.
