Open dawn to dusk.
This loop is a great way to enjoy the rustic nature and atmosphere of Durant Nature Park.
Keep an eye out for roots, small rocks, and sharp turns.
This run is a great way to reflect on nature and remember what summer camp once was. This trail system is surprisingly serene for being located among housing developments and well-traveled roads. The park has several great trails to choose from, allowing for a variety of run options and different loops.
Starting from the northern parking lot, by the park office, run south on a short connector to access the Lakeside Trail
. This is a fantastic trail that closely follows the lake and allows for close up views of water wildlife and fowl, like cranes. Overall, it is a very relaxing and peaceful trail.
From the eastern side of the Lakeside Trail
, use the short Order of the Arrow Trail
to connect with the Border Trail
. The Border Trail
is a beautiful trail that provides an opportunity to see deer and the small creeks of the park.
From the end of the Border Trail
, you can then run north again with a short side excursion on the Secret Creek Trail
to loop back to the where you started.
Flora & Fauna
Plenty of hardwoods, deer, cranes, and squirrels.
