This is the main connecting trail to many portions of the preserve with many trails starting and ending along its path. You begin this trail at the parking area on the west side of the preserve. The trail is really an old forest road that is partially grown over in spots, but it is very easy to follow. There are also many short trails that provide you with great shaded alternatives along the way.

Since it used to be a forest road, it is fairly exposed so bring a hat and some sunscreen. At the end of the trail, the road connects with a singletrack trail that passes shortly under a large powerline and then leads you to a great view of the Trinity River just before you reach the turn for the Hog's Wild Trail. This is a nice trail that is easily followed and is a necessity for connecting with other areas of the preserve.
