Description

This trail is the Bay Area Ridge Trail route between Old San Pablo Trail at EBMUD's San Pablo Recreation Area and Nimitz Way Trail in Wildcat Canyon Regional Park. From Old San Pablo Trail, this trail follows a signed route up the slope to and across San Pablo Dam Road. (CAUTION! There is a crosswalk, but vehicle traffic has a 50 mph speed limit. You may be shaded by trees. Do not assume that drivers see you or will yield.)

On the uphill side, this trail passes through a gate and follows a dirt road up the mountainside. There are several dirt road junctions along the way, but each is well-signed with the trail name and the Bay Area Ridge Trail logo. As it climbs, this trail offers expansive views of San Pablo Reservoir and further to the northeast. Reaching the ridge, this trail passes through another gate and onto Nimitz Way Trail, from which you have additional expansive views to the west and north.
