There are coyotes in the area and a lot of Prairie Rattlesnakes in the summer.

Description

This is a popular trail with plenty of other trail users including mountain bikers. The running is good, but expect to deal with full exposure and some traffic as you climb to the ridge above.

The Coyote Ridge Nature Trail makes a pleasant detour about a mile into the route. Coyote Ridge and the following Rimrock Trail can be nicely paired for a tidy run.

Flora & Fauna

High desert prairie grasses and shrubs.
