Fire on the Mountain is the main upper leg of the Flat Hollow Loop. It connects Hillbilly Hayduke Trail to Flat Hollow Arch Trail. It also provides an alternate approach to the Flat Hollow Arch.

Some of the trail follows bike-optimized, purpose-built singletrack and some sections are narrow dozer-cut old roads. The road sections feel mostly like singletrack and are a reprieve for the more difficult sections of the trail.

This area is characterized by big boulders, towering clifflines, and steep slopes.
