“A great option to combine with the Rocky Mount Trail for a loop run.”

The Gap Run Trail isn't as challenging as the neighboring Rocky Mount Trail
, although this also means you won't be rewarded with as many views since the trail heads through a heavily treed area.
The trail starts from it's junction with the northern end of Rocky Mount Trail
with a gradual climb through a shallow valley, following along the stream bed for Gap Run. After about a mile of easy running, you'll start to climb a bit more steeply as the trail turns further north and west to connect back with the Rocky Mount Trail
The last mile is a steep and challenging climb to connect back to Rocky Mount Trail
. Save some energy for this last bit!
