This paved trail is open to bicyclists, so pay attention to the additional traffic.
From the park entrance, follow the paved path behind the information center and along the main park entrance road to the east. After a half mile go down and then up and out of a little valley. Near the top the trail splits off from the road and across a prairie.
Eventually the trail crosses Deer Valley Loop
, and continues on past connectors to the South River Trail
and group camping sites. The last mile heads north across the prairie, past a short running trail, and connects to most of the parking lots. Keep going north past the picnic areas, and the trail eventually starts to descend towards the main connectors to the Prairie Loop
. From there, choose your own adventure.
