Features Lake

I did this hike in the winter, and it was a bit icy. You may want ice grippers if you want to do this in the winter.

Overview

This is one of the longest winter runs available in the metro without doing unnecessary out-and-backs (you can add an out-and-back in the southeast corner which will extend the run to closer to 10 miles). Lovely views of lakes, wooded throughout, and the occasional short hill but otherwise flat terrain.

Need to Know

This park can get busy on the weekends, and I have even run into others at a rate of about 1 person per mile on a weekday in February.

Description

The trails are very well marked, with numbered intersections and maps (that you face north to read) at every intersection. In the winter, the dashed lines on the map indicate running trails, and the solid lines indicate skiing trails, so please be mindful of the work that is put into grooming the skiing trails and try not to trample the perpendicular ski tracks when crossing skiing trails.

Lots of lake views, boardwalks, and available in the winter. A few small hills, but nothing too strenuous.
