Overview

This trail run is pure singletrack minus a wide section coming out of transition that takes runners to the start of Green Pond trail. The 10K single-loop run zigzags its way through aspen groves and fields of wildflowers. There are a few short, very steep uphills and about 800-feet of climbing then descending before the jubilation of finishing in front of loads of spectators, cameramen, and a live band jamming away right on the bricks of the fabulous Snowbasin Resort.

Need to Know

This is just the running portion of this triathlon. Check out the mountain bike race course HERE.

Description

  1. From the start, it's an all-out effort up a wide open ski run to the first junction.
  2. Turn Left onto Green Pond and enjoy the descent as the trail makes its way down the other side of the ridge you just ran up
  3. The trail will then angle back upward and you'll settle into a roughly 1.2 mile climb
  4. Shortly after a brief descent, the course will briefly join Last Chance
  5. Climb a short series of switchbacks on Last Chance before descending back to Green Pond
  6. Rejoin Green Pond for the last short uphill and get read for a quad-pounding descent all the way to the finish line
  7. When Green Pond spits you out onto Needles Trail, the fun begins... Hold on!
  8. Zig and Zag through forest and open ski runs on Needles
  9. Follow the course onto a brief section of Maples Loop and get ready for the glory.
  10. From here, it's a straight shot down to the finish line!
