Runner Notes

You'll encounter roots, rocks and a slight bit of scrambling. Watch for bikers, particularly on the lower section of the trail. The trail becomes a bit disorganized toward the top - do your best to stay on it as the area is heavily used & prone to erosion. Be on the lookout for sensitive cryptobiotic soil near the trail.

Description

Begin at the park-and-ride lot on the north side of CO 82/133 T intersection. Proceed up the dirt road about 1/4 of a mile and the Red Hill trailhead will come up on your left. Take an immediate left on the signed Mushroom Rock trail. Follow his straight to the top.

From the top, you can do all sorts of linkups on this excellent Carbondale trail system.
