Mormon Row
[Suggest Edits]
Description
If you like wildlife and you're willing to drive to see it, this is the spot for you. Mormon Row is famous for its density of wildlife sightings.
Park the car along the roadside, pop out the binoculars, and scan your surroundings for bison and pronghorn antelope. They can be seen from spring all the way until the fall. Look the sky for Northern harriers, and American kestrels as they hunt for various ground squirrel/mice. In addition, one of the Park's most elusive visitors, the coyote, tends to frequent this area hunting the same prey.
Mormon Row is also the site of two historic barns constructed by settlers John and Thomas Moulton.
On the Road: One mile north of Moose Junction, just east of Blacktail Butte.
Gem Type: Historic Site
