Need to Know

While the trail is not particularly marked, it is relatively easy to follow.

It is at times rocky, but a bit softer surface in some areas where there is a lot of tree cover. This trail is mostly shaded.

Description

The Bart's trail is a short but step connector between the east side Faulty trail and the Sandia South Crest trail that runs north to south on the ridge line. Being on the quieter east side, you'll likely have the trail to yourself.

The junction with Faulty trail is well signed and there are a few stone steps built up hear. The trail ascends steeply through juniper gaining the drainage. Gradually as you ascend, the forest grows taller and Doug Firs begin to mix in. The higher portion of the trail features oaks, grasses and other deciduous trees.

There are a few views to the east breaking through the trees about 2/3rds of the way up; however the best sweeping views are in the last quarter mile.
