Description

Like all trails in the Citico Wilderness, the difficulty isn't only about the terrain but also the lack of regular maintenance. This trail at its beginning is easy going with several crossings of Crowder Branch, despite being disjointed and barely connecting in places. Take your time here to stay on trail.

After the first half mile, the trail becomes more complete, passing alongside some old logging cables. There is a steep climb in the middle of this trail followed by a relative easy grade through a rhododendron tunnel. The stream bed is your trail here. Soon you exit the stream bed for the last time at Crowder Place, an old home site with few remnants besides the clearing that marks it. A short uphill completes the trail at its intersection with Fodderstack Horse Trail #95. Turn right to continue to Mills Branch #96 and the Doublecamp Loop.
