Need to Know
A fully serviced chalet is open during ski season and there is parking nearby. Trail passes are required for winter use of trails. There is no fee for summer trail use but donations are appreciated.
Runner Notes
The trail surface is mostly free of obstacles and should be good for running.
Description
This previously burnt area has been cleared and partially grubbed so that it can be configured with multiple courses appropriate for the Jackrabbit program. There is access directly from the chalet. The map shows the access lane opposite the groomer building. From this point on a counter clockwise circuit, there is a steady rise right to the turn off to the C1 snowshoe trail and then the return lap of the circuit back to the entry point is gently downhill.
Flora & Fauna
Along the perimeter of Jackrabbit Loop is spruce forest. Where
Snowshoe Trail C1 is immediately parallel to the ski trail, there is a nice stand of aspen in the previously burnt area. The central part of the loop is a good spot for blueberry growth.
