Overview

Run to nearly 2,000 ft above sea level at Colonel Denning State Park to see a beautiful vista overlooking the Cumberland Valley.

Description

This trail begins at the amphitheater and will be well-marked. The trail is fairly rocky but marked with red paint tagging trees as you go, so you don't get lost.

The first 0.2 miles are flat but after that, the grade increases. The trail is divided into two parts with the first ending at the "Wagon Wheel" which is an intersection of other trails at the state park. Continue on the trail to Flat Rock past this intersection.

The second part is mostly flat but there is a steep climb for about 0.4 miles to at the end to get to the viewpoint at Flat Rock. It's a tough climb but definitely worth the view!
