This short run starts at Baksei Chamkrong, which can be seen from the road. Head straight back to the temple. The temple is unique because it was named in honor of a giant bird that is said to have spread it's wings to protect a Khmer King. When you reach the front of this temple, turn left to work behind the temple. It is possible to ascend to the top, but only do so from the set of stairs behind the temple. They are the safest. Run around to the north side of the temple, and you'll see a trail leading through a small wooded area which opens up.

To the left is Prasat Bei, a smaller temple with three short towers. From Prasat Bei, you'll have a good view of the south moat of Angkor Thom. Run back straight toward the road from where you entered. Before reaching the road, there is another small ruin called Thma Bay Kaek. In total, the run is .6 miles with no elevation gain unless you climb to the top of Baksei Chamkrong.
