Overview

This is the most popular route up to the Pfeifferhorn summit. Wonderful views of the Salt lake and Utah valleys. It is a grand adventure once past Red Pine Lake.

Description

This run follows the Red Pine Lake Trail up to the lake and then continues up to Pfeifferhorn. The start of the run up to the White Pine Lake Trail turnoff is wide and fairly easy. There is a bridge and the trail remains easy for perhaps a half a mile more. When it turns towards the mountain things start getting a bit harder.

This part of the trail is a lot harder than the White Pine Lake Trail. The trail provides a lot of shade and there is a lot of vegetation until you get to the lake. After you make it past the lake things are taken to a new level. The trail gets a lot steeper and becomes more of a scramble. You'll make your way up to the ridgeline.

From the ridgeline, scramble over boulders. until you reach the last face up the peak. This looks extremely intimidating when approaching it but turns out not to be that bad. The views are amazing from the top. Definitely not a run to miss.
