Runner Notes

There are several trails that intersect in this area. It's a good idea to take a look at the overall map of this area to stay oriented

Description

This loop starts at the raptor center and heads down the service road/path on the left side of the triangle picnic area. At the Blue Bird trailhead turn left and keep the forest on your left. Where the Blue Bird trail turns right, take a hairpin left back into the woods, and follow the singletrack down to the water's edge. Here, the trail can be submerged in high water, but even if that's the case, there is an alternate route just above the waterline and there's a long plywood plank that serves as a footbridge in those times.

In this low area, take a peak across the water and notice the giant SETI telescope looming above the trees. Rise back up into the woods and stay on the singletrack until you reach the service road leading down to the raptor center. You can cross the road here and jump directly onto the Hawk Ravine Nature Trail if you're linking trails for a longer run.
